Irma Torres is passionate about learning and education. She holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and multiple professional certifications in areas such as mindfulness, stress management, and trauma.
Her passion for learning led her to become the first Puerto Rican certified in Stress Management and Resiliency Training by the Benson Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Harvard Medical School.
After achieving multiple certifications and advanced academic degrees, Irma not only shares knowledge and experiences in her talks but also provides a step-by-step guide on hacking wellness.
Hacking Wellness is a talk where Irma authentically and empathetically shares her story of seeking to "hack wellness" and integrate guilt-free self-care into her life. This talk was born after conducting over 5,000 interventions as a clinical psychologist, leading numerous stress management groups, and over 10 years of experience offering workshops.
Irma is convinced that everyone deserves to live well and learn how to manage stress, which is why she has collaborated with various media outlets since 2016. Currently, she is a regular contributor to Noticentro Al Amanecer (a news program in Puerto Rico) with the segment "Guilt-Free Self-Care," where she shares education, tips, and recommendations for mental health and wellness every two weeks since March 2024.
As an entrepreneur, she founded Hijas del Caribe, LLC with the mission of offering the Spanish-speaking community products, stationery, tools, and inspiration for guilt-free wellness and self-care. Her star products are the Wellness Planner and the “100 Days of Gratitude” Journal.
In addition to her professional life, Irma is a wife and mother. In her daily life, she practices self-care with great intention. She enjoys practicing yoga, meditating, reading, connecting with nature, engaging in physical activity, and doing creative activities with her child, especially those that are delightfully messy.
